EMU: outdoors for a better life!
The new EMU proposals and the re-edition of iconic collections to spread and promote the Italian culture of outdoors.
EMU presented its new outdoor collections created by the creativity of some of the most prestigious names in international design. In fact, EMU has confirmed its collaboration with Sebastian Herkner, one of the most interesting under-40 designers on the world scene: Sebastian Herkner who designed the Carousel chair, his second collection for EMU. Furthermore, EMU has started a new collaboration with Meneghello Paolelli Associati, the young creative couple, who designed the Re-Wood seats, and with Angeletti and Ruzza, the industrial designers who designed the Como collection.
The 50th anniversary of the iconic Rio chair was celebrated by EMU with a new edition of the collection. The re-edition of the Rio chair has been entrusted to the creativity of Emanuel Gargano, winner of the Compass d'Oro award, and of Anton Cristell.
RIO R50 | EMU | designer: Emanuel Gargano and Anton Cristell
The most iconic of all EMU chairs, the Rio chair, the historical model produced in over eight million pieces, celebrated its 50th anniversary. EMU paid tribute to the Rio chair by entrusting the re-edition of the project to the designers Emanuel Gargano and Anton Cristell. Made of iron and tubular mesh, the R50 series develops a 70s classic, but the interesting padded ergonomic seat brings out the original production process. The solid but light shape creates the perfect balance between comfort and aesthetics not only in the classic armchair, but also in the other items of the collection: chair, cot, stool, rocking chair and coffee table.
In over 65 years of history, EMU has developed an international sensitivity and vocation that make its outdoor furniture collections suitable for every context, both in the professional sector and in the private sector and in environments with different stylistic settings.
CAROUSEL | EMU | designer: Sebastian Herkner
Carousel collection has an extremely original design. Its distinctive design is characterized by an aluminum structure that can be combined with a seat and backrest structure in three different materials. The first is an innovative multi-layer plastic fabric that has undergone a special process to press it and fold it into ergonomic shapes, while maintaining a soft surface. An interesting balance of elements that creates seats with rigid and soft alternating parts. The other two coatings used for the seat and back are woven materials.
EMU is present with growing success all over the world thanks to the comfort and elegance of its products, rich in strong design contents, which translate into harmony of shapes and recognizable identity of its collections, made of steel and aluminum, in combination with technological and innovative materials.
RE-WOOD | EMU | designer: Meneghello Paolelli Associati
Re-Wood offers a multi-material combination / contamination. An original process combines a bamboo fiber structure with an aluminum structure to create the seat and backrest. Not a cover, therefore, but a wooden material, whose welcoming shape welcomes soft cushions. Re-Wood is a great innovation in the field of outdoor design, where this technology is used for the first time for the production of outdoor furniture. The collection consists of five pieces: a chair, an armchair, an armchair and a two and three-seater sofa.
The mastery of the most advanced technologies in the production process, the priority attention to detail and the quality of processes and products, the ability to develop new manufacturing techniques to create solutions that exalt continuity and purity of lines and volumes are peculiar characteristics that can be found in all EMU products.
COMO | EMU | designer: Studio Angeletti and Ruzza
"The evocative value of memory is the leitmotiv of the Como collection that blends naturally and spontaneously into any environment, whatever the type of architecture." Thus, a contemporary classic was created, a collection of seats designed for the residential sector, able to adapt to any environment with natural spontaneity. A project that speaks the language of simplicity, where materials, attention to detail, careful study of proportions and effective function reflect a graceful contemporary contrast.
